You are invited to enter the 2025 Annual National Juried Exhibition with Juror JuliAnne Jonker. This is the only time when the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art shifts its focus away from figurative realism and invites any style, medium and subject matter to submit. The result is an eclectic show of some of the best artists working from coast to coast. All mediums are welcomed and encouraged.

Artist Biography: JuliAnne Jonker 

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1957, JuliAnne Jonker is an award-winning fine artist, portrait photographer, and educator. Growing up in a family of jazz musicians and creatives, she learned to embrace inspiration and improvisation from an early age. This foundation has shaped her creative life, allowing her to fluidly navigate through various disciplines—drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture.

JuliAnne's artistic training encompasses both classical and contemporary fine art styles, beginning at the Minnesota River School of Fine Art and furthered through mentorship with living masters domestically and abroad. This diverse education has imbued her work with a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

Her art has been exhibited and sold across a wide array of venues, consistently receiving critical acclaim. Notable exhibitions include Sotheby’s in New York, The Museum MEAM in Barcelona, Spain, The Almenara Art Collection in Córdoba, Spain, The Salmagundi Club in New York City, RJD Gallery, Chelsie Nicole Contemporary in Ozark, Missouri, and the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin. She is also honored to have her work included in the permanent collection of The Museum of Encaustic Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Throughout her career, JuliAnne has received several prestigious awards, including recognitions from The Salmagundi Club, NY, The Art Renewal Center, The Portrait Society of America, the International Velasquez Award, the Almenara Art Prize, and the FIKVA Art Prize. Her work has been featured in various publications, including the cover of Fine Art Connoisseur magazine’s December 2021 issue. Additionally, 15 of her paintings are included in the Lunar Codex, a groundbreaking initiative sending artwork to the moon.

Entry Fee


Fee: The $75 Entry Fee covers up to 4 unique submissions. Credit cards are accepted on-line with your submission, the fee is non-refundable and must accompany your submission.

Qualifying Entries


Notification of finalists will be made by September 5th, 2025. All entries must meet the following criteria:

  • Open to all artists 18 or older

  • Must be the artist’s own original design and concept

  • Created independently and after February 2022

  • For 2D the longest side should not be larger than 60”

  • For 3D the size of the piece should weigh no more than 150 pounds and under 8’

  • For 3D artwork, the submitted work should be in final material, ready for display

  • In addition, no electronic, A.I., computer generated art, or art done in a class, workshop or under supervision is eligible. Digital apps and programs may be used for cropping your own reference photos only. All other media is accepted and encouraged, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional.

How to submit electronically


STEP 1: FORMAT YOUR ENTRY (jpeg prep)

Prepare up to four (4) unique artworks for entry:

  • Only digital entries will be accepted.

  • Images should ONLY be of the artwork. Do not include matting, frame, etc. in the image.

  • Save each file as a JPG, no larger than 5 megabytes.

  • Each file MUST be labeled in the following format: artist’s last name, title of artwork, dimensions, medium, year and price; all separated by an underscore. (see example)

    • *These jpegs will be emailed to beauandkaralasiewicz@gmail.com after you submit the form

  • Make sure your entry files are formatted according to the instructions above and are named correctly

  • Then, for each artwork, enter the Title, Year, Medium and Dimensions

  • Upload each image following the steps in the form

Step 4: Agree to Terms of Competition

  • Read and agree to the terms of the competition

Step 5: Submit Your Entry & Payment

  • Submit your entry and enter your name as it reads on the credit card for payment

Step 6: Email JPEGS to Beau & Kara

    -Be sure to follow the procedure for naming .jpegs and keep under 5mb
