The WMOCA hosts seminars, workshops and courses throughout the year by artists and local professionals. Each guest presenter shares their unique style in their workshop and has a passion for teaching and their art. Below are current workshops that are being offered through the WMOCA.

Music Mondays
From his first strum to the stage spotlight, Jake’s guitar has been his saving grace. With 14 years of gigging and fronting the Wisco blues powerhouse BluezDriver, he’s bringing that energy and heart to 2nd Monday Open Mic on June 9th as our Music Mondays host! Whether you're a seasoned player or just finding your rhythm, Jake’s mission is to make space for every voice to be heard. Come play, listen, and vibe with us at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.

Tot Time Tuesdays
Join us at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art for Tot Time Tuesdays! Designed for young children and their caregivers, this engaging hour includes Storytime and Creative Crafting. Little ones will enjoy an interactive story followed by a fun hands-on art activity inspired by the tale.
Recommended for toddlers and preschool-aged children with their caregivers

Yoo-Hoo Ladybug!
Join us for a delightful and creative adventure inspired by the book Yoo-Hoo, Ladybug! Students will enjoy a read-aloud of this playful seek-and-find story, searching for the hidden ladybug in each colorful scene.
After the reading, children will get hands-on as they design their very own “Find the Ladybug” artwork! Using scissors, tape, glue, and clippings from art magazines, students will create vibrant collage scenes—each one hiding a ladybug in plain sight.
Creative Highlights:
Younger children will focus on using cut-out shapes and magazine images to build their scenes.
Older students (ages 9–12) can enhance their artwork with mixed media, combining drawing and collage.
Everyone will explore camouflage, proportion, and the art of visual storytelling.
This class is perfect for curious minds and creative hands. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination!

Creative Somatic Movement

Join us for an evening of Creative Somatic Movement, where dance becomes a gateway to inner connection and creative embodiment. Through guided movement, meditation, and intuitive exploration, we’ll dance with the elements-earth, water, fire, air, and ether-awakening their energies within us. With non-alcoholic Forward Beverages, community connection, expansive creativity, and plenty of room to move, this is an invitation to return to your body, awaken your senses, and dance with the rhythms of nature. Bring your friends and make some space for joy, depth, and transformation!
