Iconic 2026
JuliAnne Jonker “O lisoús éKlapse (Jesus Wept)” Oil and Cold Wax on Wood Panel
You are invited to enter the 2026 Iconic Exhibition curated by Didi Menendez
What is Iconic?
Iconic challenges and celebrates the culture of modern celebrity through a dynamic collection of paintings. In a world saturated with digital and media imagery, the line between original art and what AI creates is blurred. This show features artists who still use traditional mediums and expressive brush strokes to deconstruct the figures of our time. From Hollywood legends to viral personalities and religious figures, the artworks explore how icons defy and embody expectations of fame and identity. Step into this vibrant, irreverent group show at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art where the beautiful, the defiant, and the complex personalities of our era are reexamined with fresh eyes.
